The Recalibrated Stetson Standard Catalog
Kai Xiao
Over the past decades, the Stetson standard stars have been widely regarded as high-quality photometric standards and extensively adopted for astronomical calibration. The dataset presented here is based on the Stetson catalog publicly released in 2024, comprising approximately 200,000 stars with UBVRI photometry and magnitude uncertainties below 0.02 mag. Using the BEST database, we carried out a high-precision recalibration of this catalog, effectively correcting spatially correlated systematic errors (up to 40 mmag) in the original data. The recalibrated standards reach mmag-level photometric uniformity and provide a solid foundation for high-precision photometric calibration, particularly for surveys targeting faint objects.
