VMP Candidates with 6D Astrometry and Kinematics
Shuai Xu ; Haibo Yuan
Based on the photometric metallicities derived from Gaia XP synthetic photometry and released by Huang Bowen et al. (2025), we applied a series of selection criteria, including extinction and photometric quality cuts, potential binary contamination filtering, and an isochrone-based cut. This yielded a sample of 12,000 VMP stars (1604 dwarfs and 10,396 giants) brighter than G = 15. Cross-matching with LAMOST DR10 indicates that over 90% of the sample are genuine VMP stars, with 99% having [Fe/H] < -1.5.
