CatSouth and CatGlobe Quasar Candidate Catalogs Based on Gaia DR3
Yuming Fu
The CatSouth quasar candidate catalog is constructed by combining Gaia DR3 data with complementary optical and infrared observations from the SkyMapper Southern Survey DR4, VISTA surveys, and CatWISE2020. It provides astrometry, multi-band photometry, machine-learning classification probabilities, and redshift estimates (both photometric and spectroscopic via a CNN-based RegNet model) for high-confidence quasar candidates in the southern hemisphere. By merging CatSouth with the CatNorth catalog, we produce the CatGlobe all-sky catalog, which comprises nearly 1.9 million sources with G<21.
