A Catalog of Distance Determinations for 7 Million Stars in LAMOST DR10
We present a catalog of distances for approximately 7 million stars with stellar atmospheric parameters from LAMOST DR10. Our methodology is analogous to that employed by Carlin et al. (2015). For each star, the absolute magnitudes in 2MASS Ks band or/and Gaia G band are provided. After the extinction correction, the distances are calculated. In this study, the distance errors are primarily infuenced by the uncertainties associated with the stellar atmospheric parameters, so the typical errors of the distances derived from the two photomatric bands are found to be consistent at about 6%, 10%, 13%, 15%, and 18% at 1 kpc, 2 kpc, 3 kpc, 5 kpc, and beyond 10 kpc, respectively. However, calibrations with the Gaia parallax and distances from Bailer-Jones et al. (2021) indicate a bias of 6% for the distances derived from the Gaia G-band and a bias of 15% for those derived from 2MASS Ks. Consequently, the distances derived from the Gaia G band are recommended for distant stars. For any question on the use of the catalog, please contact Dr. Chengqun Yang through ycq@shao.ac.cn.
