The “ICESUN Workshop 2026: Type Ia Supernovae” is an exciting international workshop which is hosted by the International Centre of Supernovae (ICESUN), the Yunnan Key Laboratory of Supernova Research at Yunnan Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The workshop will take place from August 2 to 8, 2026, in Wenshan (文山壮族苗族自治州), China. The workshop will bring together leading experts and emerging researchers from around the world to explore the latest advances in Type Ia supernova studies. Topics will include the connection between theoretical models and the observed diversity of supernovae, insights from supernova remnants, and new pathways toward resolving longstanding debates about their progenitor systems and explosion mechanisms. Through a program of invited talks, discussions, and collaborative sessions, participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, present cutting-edge results, and build lasting scientific collaborations. The workshop will offer an inspiring environment for both scientific discovery and international exchange.
