How did our planet form? How did our home Galaxy form? These are among the most fundamental questions in modern astrophysics. With the help of large-scale survey projects, kinematics, and chemical compositions have been obtained for millions of resolved stars in the Milky Way, and thousands of candidate exoplanets have been detected, which would provide fundamental clues to these essential questions, On the other hand, joint efforts between Chinese and Spanish astronomers have been devoted to building the ultra-high resolution spectrograph Canary Hybrid Optical high-Resolution Ultra-stable Spectrograph (CHORUS) for Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC), which will complement each side and make a very competitive instrument, especially in the field of Galactic and exoplanet sciences. The primary objective of this workshop is to convene astronomers with a shared interest in exploring the Milky Way and exoplanets, taking advantage of facilities in China and Spain, including Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopy Telescope (LAMOST) and GTC on the ground, China Space Station Telescope (CSST) and HABItable Terrestrial planetary Atmospheric Surveyor (HABITATs) in the space, etc. Spain. Participants will delve into recent findings and prospects from these cutting-edge facilities, furthering our comprehension of the history of our Galaxy and the evolution of its stars, as well as the formation of our Solar System and the characterization of exoplanets.
