Aims and Scope Observation of hot gas is one of the most important keys to answer some outstanding questions in galaxy formation and evolution, such as the missing baryons problem and the roles played by AGN and stellar feedback. Measuring the properties of hot gas is the task of the planned X-ray telescope HUBS (Hot Universe Baryons Surveyor). To discuss the scientific objectives of HUBS, we have organized a series of workshops. The first one was held in Shanghai, 2018. The second one, which was postphoned due to th worldwide epidemic, will be held in Xiamen on Oct. 14-16 2021, as one activity of Xiamen University centenary celebration.
