About National Astronomical Data Center
National Astronomical Data Center (NADC) is a national science and technology resource sharing platform and a national science and technology innovation base recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China. Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is the superior management department of the NADC, and National Astronomical Observatories, CAS (NAOC) is the host institute of NADC. NADC is also part of the scientific data center system of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The main co-construction institutes of NADC include Purple Mountain Observatory, Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Computer Network Information Center, Yunnan Observatory, Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory, Changchun Observatory, National Time Service Center from the CAS, and Tianjin University, Yunnan University.
NADC performs all duties as a National Science Data Center and a Scientific Data Center of CAS, and is responsible for the submission management, compilation and integration of astronomical scientific data, formulation of relevant standards and specifications, construction of astronomical data system, optimization and improvement of the astronomical data open service platform and multiple data services, establishment of the application platform of data mining analysis, promotion of the application of scientific data in the field of astronomy, and public outreach and international collaboration.
Aiming to become an important resource platform and technical force, NADC will help leading astronomy research into a new era of data intensive scientific discovery.
