The Lastest WXT FOV

The Wide-field X-ray Telescope (WXT) onboard the Einstein Probe satellite is to monitor the sky in the soft X-ray band of 0.5-4 keV. WXT employs novel lobster-eye micro-pore optics (MPO), combined with a large array of total 48 CMOS detectors, enabling a large instantaneous field-of-view (FoV) of ~3800 square degrees (~1/11 of the whole sky) with an unprecedented sensitivity of 2-3E-11 erg/cm2/s in 1 ks exposure.

We provide the latest 1-day WXT FoV coverage for the community. This daily WXT coverage is based on the short-term schedule of EP's daily operation. For each observation, the following information is provided:

  1. start_date_UTC: start time in UTC.
  2. end_date_UTC: end time in UTC.
  3. WXT_fov: the coordinates (R.A. and DEC, in degrees) of the center of each covered HEALPix pixel.

The FoV file on this page is updated in real-time according to EP's observation schedule, ensuring that it always contains the sky regions covered by WXT for the next 24 hours.
