On April 19, 2023, the Kick-off meeting of the Einstein Probe Science Topical Panels (STP) was held online. Over 130 researchers from China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan) and six European countries attended the conference. Academician Prof. Wang Chi, head of the Space Science Pioneer Project of CAS and director general of NSSC, Dr. Paul McNamara, coordinator of ESA's Astronomy and Astrophysics Mission, Prof. Kirpal Nandra, director of MPE, Mathieu Grialou, counsellor for Space Affairs at the French Embassy in China and representative of CNES, participated the meeting and delivered speeches respectively.
The P.I. and the SMC members of EP satellite introduced the overview of the mission, observation modes, data and observation proposals, data policy and collaboration principles as well as the pre-launch activities of STPs, respectively, and answered the questions from STP members.
The Sino-European Joint Science Team of the Einstein Probe satellite consists of scientists from China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Germany, France, UK, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. They will jointly use EP satellite data to carry out the cutting-edge scientific exploration in time domain astronomy.
